at Nannerch near Mold The Dee estuary is very important to anglers. When gales and heavy seas stop angling on the open beaches, the good old Dee estuary still offers sheltered fishing. Dee venues also offer fish to close in casters and is the place we all take the kids to introduce them to fishing where they can fish with a small rod close in for flounder and plaice. The Dee is the closest sea angling venue for people travelling from the northwes. The Dee is also a major run for salmon, sea trout and bass. It would be a disaster if we allow this important estuary to be dried up of fish because of just 2 trawlers being allowed to fish the narrow channel. Anglers have noticed a significant drop in catches since these trawlers started operating and this year the Dee hasn't produced the cod catches it did in previous years, including last year. The Dee is the closest sea angling venue for people travelling from the northwest.
